Birds

well its been awhile and i have finished Mockingbird. and what i found out is that one of my brothers friends mothers is good friends with the author. And i guess she based the main character off of her daughter. The book was well written and the story is so strong, there is little i can say that is negative. The only thing i wish is that the main character was a bit older, i think this would have shown so much more power and so much what is real in this world, so real we don't expect them.

well let's see...

I finished Raven summer and to be honest im still confused. The ending was great but i really didnt get anything else.

The sky is everywhere....well yes this statement happens to be true. But it is also a very good book. some points i thought were a little out there but other then that it was a good book and i would read it again. I might just have to add it to its-a-rainy-day-and-i-have-no-more-good-books-to-read-so-ill-read-this pile.

some girls are....not going to read this book

SAVE YOURSELF!!!! dont read this book, you will die a slow and painful death. death by an overly clichéd novel. there is nothing really great about this book and im still wondering if the author is ok. while the book touches issues that happen everywhere, it just does a really bad job of it. i got lost so many times, that i really wanted to throw the book out the window.

split and rules

I loved split i read it all in one day and i would read it a 100000000000000 times more. the story was great and so were the characters. You dear reader of this blog MUST MUST MUST MUST read it!

Unwritten Rule = Meh. i felt like this book was just like her other writing. its a classic teen chick book. one that you would read if you were bored. it'll be interesting to see what 'the other one' has to says. but honestly the book was average.

the end and a begining

Through out the course of Lockdown i was on the edge of my seat. READ IT READ IT READ IT! the thought that goes behind each person makes them seem like your standing in the room. the author touches subjects that one can only imagine, and the characters aren't charaters as much as they are peole facing the harsh reality of their life. 4.5 stars out of 5 i recommend to anyone (not just boys)
SPLIT by: Swati Avasthi This book hits home, even though im only like a 1/3 in to the book i can't seem to put it down. Today i can't count how many times I've been yelled at because i wasn't helping out around the house. The way the author write from two different perspectives from the same charater just grabs you and it seems to be a life line. I really enjoyed how the author wrote about a topic that happens every single day, and while the book is fiction, the same thing is happening all around us. now im not going to give away 'what it is'. but really pick it up the next time you get a chance.

Lockdown - Walter Dean Myers

Well lets just say i needed a break from Raven Summer. so i started reading Lockdown, and i have to say that it is really good. My brother is a huge Myers fan and has read all of his books. Now that I've started to read, i truly understand where my brother is coming from. I really like how the book is written so that you can see what normally you can't even imagine. Following the main character around a juvie, and really getting to see how he thinks has earned this book my vote. although i'm only like 8 chapters in this book is not one that you want to miss.

The Other One

Yes this is the other one. I am also trying to read all 22 books for the YALSA conference this June. We will succeed and you will see that the other one and myself have some differing tastes

-the other one

Raven Summer by David Almond - part one

The first book on the list is interesting to say the least. But as I started reading i had to keep thinking to myself "what is he talking about?" i felt like there was way to much information and the way that the author wrote made it even harder to understand. And the introduction of characters just plains sucks. over time you get an idea of the characters but it requires reading the 'fluff'. Lastly it took me three days to read the first like 50 pages, so if i saw this on a shelf i wouldn't be taking it home with me.
